The Darksoft CPS2 Champion Edition Multigame Kit allows supported CPS2 games to run on compatible original Capcom CPS2 arcade hardware. The kit installs on an original CPS2 B-board and operates with a compatible CPS2 A-board while retaining the original Capcom hardware platform.
CPS2 Compatibility & Requirements
Important: Do not intentionally disable or damage a working battery-backed CPS2 B-board for this installation. Use a donor B-board that is already batteryless.

The Champion Edition includes the Darksoft CPS2 multigame board assemblies, required bridging hardware, spacers, LCD game selector, ribbon cable, and key-writing connection hardware supplied for the documented installation. Preparing the Donor CPS2 B-Board
Champion Edition Installation Overview
The Champion Edition PCBs contain many pins that must enter the original B-board sockets correctly. Do not apply pressure until every pin and connector is aligned. Bent pins, damaged sockets, or an incorrectly installed bridging PCB can prevent operation and may damage the hardware.
LCD Game Selector
- Connect the LCD selector with the supplied 14-pin ribbon cable.
- Use the three LCD buttons to browse and select games stored on the microSD card.
- LCD contrast can be adjusted with the trim control on the main multigame PCB.
- The selected game remains stored in flash memory until another title is chosen and written.

- Use only an already-batteryless donor B-board.
- Confirm the CPS2 A-board and B-board are compatible with each other.
- Remove only the ROM devices identified in the installation guide.
- Confirm the B-board revision before choosing a key-writing method.
- Older B-board revisions may require four precise solder connections.
- Do not force a multigame PCB or bridging board onto misaligned pins.
- Disconnect power and discharge static before handling the hardware.
- Use only game data that you are legally entitled to possess and operate.

Darksoft CPS2 Champion Edition FAQ
Is this an emulation system?
No. Supported games run on compatible original Capcom CPS2 A-board and B-board hardware.
What donor hardware is required?
A compatible original CPS2 A-board and an already-batteryless CPS2 B-board are required.
Must the original B-board ROMs be removed?
Yes. Remove the socketed EPROMs and Mask ROMs specifically identified in the installation guide and leave excluded components untouched.
Does installation require soldering?
B-board revisions with CN9 can use a direct key-writing adapter cable. Revisions 93646B-3 and 93646B-4 require four soldered CN2 connections when key writing is needed.
Is key writing required?
Key writing is required when using compatible original unmodified CPS2 game data. Without it, compatible decrypted or patched game sets must be used.
Is a microSD card included?
No. A compatible microSD card must be supplied separately, formatted FAT32, and prepared with the required game folders.
Does the selected game remain after power is removed?
Yes. The selected game remains stored in flash memory until another title is chosen and written.

Bought a few of the Darksoft kits at the start of the year. Amazingly fast tracking provided and delivery was great. Kits were sent with signature required. Got them all installed and work great! Preordered the MVS coming out soon too! I'll be back for more (and tell all of my friends where to buy them at)
