Original Hardware
Designed specifically for an original Konami Gyruss arcade PCB.
Add Permanent Score Saving to Your Original Gyruss Arcade PCB
Original Gyruss arcade hardware does not retain high scores after the machine is powered off. This kit adds battery-free serial EEPROM score storage while continuing to use the original Konami PCB, Z80 processor, controls, sound hardware, and game program.
The kit permanently stores the Top 5 scores. It also adds Free Play, on-screen settings, separate score tables for 2, 3, or 4 lives, attract-mode protection, backup and restore, Stealth Mode, Fast Boot, ROM Saver support, and scoring up to 9,999,990 points.
This is not an emulator, replacement game board, or multigame system. The original Gyruss gameplay remains unchanged.

Works great. Check your CPU socket.
Be sure to check your machine to see if you need a CPU socket. My Z80 was soldered to the board so I had to de-solder that first then add a 40 pin socket. Only took an extra 15 minutes or so, but keep that in mind when ordering. Machine booted right up and works as advertised.
Also the addition of this board requires you to add some height between the CPU and sound board. After that, it will no longer slide into the metal cage inside the machine. I used Amazon: "Nylon Hex Spacer Standoffs" and built a wood box for this to slide into as a replacement.
