Compatibility and What to Check Before Ordering
- Hardware: Designed for documented compatible original Bally Midway Wizard of Wor arcade hardware.
- Processor: Requires a compatible Z80 processor.
- Processor Socket: The Z80 location must have a compatible 40-pin socket for normal kit installation.
- Cabinets: Supports documented upright and cocktail Wizard of Wor cabinets.
- ROM Saver: The game program runs from the HighScoreSaves kit, so the original memory/ROM board is no longer required when installed as directed.
Inspect the PCB before ordering. If the Z80 processor is soldered directly to the CPU board, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed before the kit can be fitted.
Choose Your Wizard of Wor Kit Configuration
Select either a Standard Save Kit or a Wi-Fi Enabled Kit when ordering.
Standard Save Kit
Saves scores locally and includes the core Free Play, Top 5 score saving, lives-specific score tables, attract sounds, multilingual settings, Backup and Restore, Reset, Stealth Mode, and ROM Saver features.
Wi-Fi Enabled Kit
Includes the same local gameplay and score-saving functionality and adds supported online score uploading and leaderboard features.
Access the HighScoreSaves Settings Menu
To access the Wizard of Wor kit settings, power the cabinet off, hold Player 1 Start, and turn the cabinet back on. Release Player 1 Start when the on-screen prompt tells you to continue.
This provides access to the supported HighScoreSaves configuration menu without making those settings normally available during regular gameplay.

Top 5 Scores and Lives-Specific Score Tables
The Wizard of Wor kit permanently saves the Top 5 supported scores with player initials using serial EEPROM storage.
Independent high score tables are maintained for supported 2, 3, 4, and 5 lives settings. This keeps scores earned under different lives configurations properly separated.
Backup and Restore functionality also allows supported high score data to be saved and restored before service work, events, parties, or other situations where you want to preserve the current scoreboard.
Attract Sounds, Language Selection, Reset, and Stealth Mode
Adjustable Attract Sounds
Attract sounds can be configured for 25%, 50%, or 100% of the supported attract rotation.
Language Selection
Choose between supported English, German, and French game-language options through the kit menu.
Reset
After Reset is enabled through the menu, press Player 1 Start + Player 2 Start together to restart Wizard of Wor without cycling cabinet power.
Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode boots directly into Wizard of Wor gameplay for a more stock-style startup presentation.

- Socketed CPU Required: The Z80 location on the CPU board must have a compatible 40-pin socket.
- No Soldering on a Properly Socketed PCB: Normal kit installation does not require soldering when the Z80 is already socketed.
- Unsocketed PCB: If the Z80 is soldered directly to the board, a compatible 40-pin socket must be installed first.

Choose the Wi-Fi Enabled version during purchase if you want supported Wizard of Wor scores uploaded to the HighScoreSaves online leaderboard system. Standard kits save scores locally and do not require an internet connection.
Wi-Fi Enabled kits use a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Local gameplay and score saving remain available independently of online uploading.
Wi-Fi hardware is included only with the Wi-Fi Enabled version, so select that configuration when ordering if online score uploading is desired.
